Intent

At Thurstable, our intent is to develop students’ creativity, imagination, and confidence as musicians, inspiring a lifelong love and appreciation of music. Through a broad and balanced curriculum, students will engage with the three key areas of performing, composing, and listening & appraising. This approach ensures a well-rounded musical education, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and passion to continue their musical journey beyond the classroom.

Endeavour: Through assessment, students make consistent effort to improve, explore and achieve their best in music lessons. Students take pride in their work and understand the importance of being resilient and taking pride in their work. ‘Don’t practice until you get it right once. Practice until you cannot get it wrong’.
